Lily Alter is a vocalist, pianist, and educator from Oak Park, Illinois. As a highly sought after performer, currently Ms. Lily is a singer for the Grammy nominated 1 O'clock Lab Band at UNT. She received her undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. At WMU, she was a member of Gold Company, played piano in the WMU Jazz Lab Band, and sang with the WMU Jazz Orchestra.
She has taught private voice and piano lessons at the Helen L. Fox Gospel Music Center and Marshall Music Company in Kalamazoo, as well students in her own studio.
She is currently a jazz voice Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas where she directs the vocal jazz group, West End, and teaches private jazz voice lessons. At UNT, she has also sang with the UNT Jazz Singers.
Ms. Lily enjoys working with students of all ages, 3 and up, and is passionate about sharing her love of music with eager learners. She is so excited to meet new students at LSMA.
