Emma Fox (Accepting Students)

B.S. in Music Business emphasis in Songwriting + Worship Leadership (Dallas Baptist University)

Emma’s love for music started at the age of 5 when she got a karaoke machine for Christmas from Santa. She drove her parents crazy by singing loudly for the whole house to hear. She started playing guitar and taking lessons at age 10. She began to write songs at an early age. She was inspired in middle school by Taylor Swift's “Fearless” album.

Emma was actively involved in choir ensembles throughout middle school, high school, and college at Dallas Baptist University (DBU). During this time, she also served as a worship leader at Shearer Hills Baptist Church and Ovilla Road Baptist Church.

Since earning her music degree at DBU, Emma has continued to lead worship at many churches, including First United Methodist Church McKinney, First United Methodist Church Forney, and Christ Community Church in Denton. She also enjoyed teaching voice and guitar lessons at Zera Music Company.

Emma is currently an artist resident at Transform Arts. Transform is a community of christ-following artists seeking to wrestle with the deep questions of art, faith, and culture. She is also the lead singer and guitar player in her band, Glenda. Glenda has played across DFW and throughout Texas, including the “The Silos” in Waco, Texas.

Emma’s main passion is songwriting, teaching others how to use music for self-expression and developing the courage and confidence in others to create. She strongly believes that music has the ability to help us express beauty, evoke vulnerability, and enter into deep connectedness. Emma’s goal is to create a safe environment that encourages and empowers students. Emma strives to meet the individual needs of every student. When teaching, Emma does not expect perfection, but instead continuous progress toward her students’ goals. She wants to see every student experience growth in their technical singing ability and the confidence to share it with others!
