A native of Korea, Ji Eun Yum, completed Doctor of Musical Arts degree from University of North Texas, Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, and Bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas. While at UNT, she received numerous scholarships and the title, “Honor of Keyboard Studies.” Her primary professors include Gustavo Romero and Donn-Alexandre Feder.

As the first prize winner of Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, Dr. Yum gave her New York debut at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2018. Also she won third prize at the On Stage International Solo Piano Competition (Italy). In 2005, she was the First prize winner of the concerto competition at UNT and subsequently, performed the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.2 with the UNT symphony orchestra.

Dr. Yum is an experienced piano teacher and is very passionate about piano education regardless of student’s age or skill level. Through her extensive training in performance as well as music education during her doctorate program at UNT, she is keenly aware of the importance of having a philosophy of music education for successful teaching. In her teaching, she incorporates her study in piano pedagogy to promote healthy progress in her students. She joined Lone Star Music Academy in She 2012 and she is a sought-after instructor. She believes that music should be accessible to everyone and she is happy to help her students cultivate their love of music regardless of their age and musical background.
